ALIZA RIZVI
DIGITAL ARTIST & GAME DEV

Hi, I'm Aliza!
I’m a recent grad from the University of Western Ontario, where I did my BSc in Computer Science and minored in Japanese Studies. During my time in university, I learned a lot about the fundamentals of game development and game design. Through my courses, I gained a solid understanding of game mechanics, design principles, and the history and trends of video games. I have a strong proficiency in building games with the Unity Engine and coding scripts in C#. I also have experience coding in Python, Java, C++, and C. I have a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, object oriented programming, and linear algebra.
In addition, I learned a lot about Japanese culture in university by studying the language and analyzing various forms of media. I gained a solid understanding of how to read, write, and speak in the language, and can carry on basic conversations with native Japanese speakers.
My interests & hobbies:
If you couldn't already tell, I'm a huge fan of video games! I started playing video games before I could even read (which was quite the challenge, let me tell you), and over time gained a huge appreciation for game development. As a game developer, it is useful to be familiar with a variety of game genres and understand how they work. My current favourites include (in no particular order):

-
The Legend of Zelda
-
Animal Crossing
-
Kirby
-
Pokémon
-
Stardew Valley
-
Ace Attorney
-
Danganronpa

I also like to watch anime! My current favourites include: Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family, Fruits Basket and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Most importantly, I LOVE to draw! I have been continuously practicing and growing my skills since I was very young, using video games and anime as an inspiration in my work. Drawing is not only an enjoyable hobby for me, but a useful skill. I utilize my abilities in art to help me create games and establish my own Etsy shop, which I am very proud of.

I first opened my shop, AlozerDoodleNoodles, in 2021 and was able to successfully balance running a business on my own while maintaining my studies. Since then, I have achieved 600+ sales, 200+ positive reviews from customers, and receieved a Star Seller badge for providing great customer service. I also have had the opportunity to sell my products at conventions like Anime North and London Comic Con.
